Ponta Mamoli Beach Southern Mozambique is a quiet and secluded Beach just 45 Minutes from the Kosi Bay Border.
Mamoli Beach is very popular amongst South Africans during the Holiday Seasons. Because is located so close to South Africa – on the Kozi Bay border. Which is only a 5 hour drive from Durban.
A 4×4 vehicle is required to get to Ponta Mamoli from Kozi Bay Border. BUT there is safe parking (at a daily fee) at the border for normal sedan vehicles. Transfers from the Border to Mamoli is also offered by a few of the locals.
With miles of beaches and no one to be seen, Ponta Mamoli / Ponta do Ouro / Ponta Malongane offers some stunning un-spoilt beaches for you to explore. Even if you are only there, for the simple pleasures of relaxing on the beach, soaking up the sun!

Keep in mind that Ponta do Ouro is the only village (close-by) that has petrol & Diesel. So if you are running out of feul, then you know where to go! If you are going to Ponta Mamoli, then make sure you stop off at Massinga for supplies. As Ponta Mamoli does not have a small shop for basic supplies. There are NO ATMS in either of these towns. So make sure you have drawn the money you need BEFORE you get to either of these destination. Rands (ZAR) currency is accepted!
Bird enthusiasts would like to know that the southern parts of Mozambique are home to a wide variety of bird species, including the Fish Eagle. Why not take a scenic drive up towards Lake Piti, a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the days sunset. you can also spot some small game on the way up, such as: Inyala, Red Duiker, Reedbuck and Suni and as well as Crocodiles and Hippos!
